Social Policy

The Board of MIVV strongly believes that professional ethics promote the success of the entrepreneurial activity, contributing to spreading the image of a reliable, correct, and transparent company, as far as the activities implemented for the pursuit of its own objectives are concerned, and therefore represent a primary and essential value for the company.

The activity of MIVV and, in particular, its mission require that any relationships with the outside are based on careful compliance with current laws, market rules, and the inspiring principles of fair competition. For this purpose, the Board forbids any form of illicit payments, be that consisting of money (e.g.: bribes) or any other means (e.g.: goods, gifts), with the objective of acquiring jobs and/or preferential treatment, or in any way influence the objectiveness of judgments in case of participation to tenders.   This ban is obviously extended to all personnel.

MIVV is strongly committed to trying to reach continuous quality improvement levels, so that it may promptly respond to all customers’ demands, and strive for of excellence.
For this purpose, the Board of MIVV intends to ensure the pursuing of this objective through compliance to the official standards, laws and regulations of reference for its products/services, processes, workplaces, the environment, and the social responsibility, as well as to any voluntary requirements that the company has decided to adhere to.

In particular, MIVV undertakes the commitment to:

  •   Comply with all national laws and conventions on working rights, and on the safeguard of the health and the safety of workers.
  •   not take advance of (or encourage the use of) child labour
  •   not expose children and young workers to situations that may be dangerous, unsafe, or detrimental to health
  •   not use or encourage the use of forced work
  •   not ask personnel to leave financial deposits, original documents of identity, or authorisations, at the start of the working period
  •   ensure a healthy and safe working environment, implementing measures for the prevention of accidents and health risks, both in the workplace, and as a consequence of the same.
  •   appoint a representative of the Board for the health and safety of all personnel
  •   ensure that all personnel, including newly appointed and temporary personnel, receive regular and documented training on health and safety
  •   set up systems for identifying, avoiding and resolving potential health and safety risks, including any risks connected with work carried out by new mothers, or by pregnant women
  • respect the right of workers to form/adhere to union associations of their choice, and the right of collective negotiation
  • ensure that union representatives are not discriminated in the workplace, and that they can communicate with their associates
  • not discriminate based on: race, rank, nationality, class, birth, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, family responsibilities, civil status, union membership or political beliefs, age, or any other conditions that may cause discrimination
  • not allow any sort of behaviours, including signs, language, or physical contact that are sexually coercive, threatening, offensive, or aimed at exploitation, both in the workplace, and in other areas provided by the company
  • not use or encourage corporal punishment, mental or physical punishment, verbal abuse, mobbing in the workplace, hard or inhuman treatment
  • comply with the working hours set by current legislations, and the industry standards
  • ensure compliance with legal minimum pay requirements, so that pay may in any case satisfy the essential needs, and that part of the income may in any case remain available
  • ensure that any salary deductions are not due to disciplinary reasons, and that the pay slip is clear and understandable by all
  • ensure that pay is provided following the legal requirements, and in any case in the most convenient way for workers
  • ensure that no contracts are agreed that may highlight abuse of the type of collaboration agreement, in order to avoid formalizing the contributory position of the worker
  • ensure that no false apprenticeship schemes are implemented, in order to avoid the fulfilment of job related commitments
  • work together with its suppliers, sub-suppliers, and sub-contractors for the implementation of a Social Responsibility policy, which, through technical support and a higher degree of awareness, may bring an improvement in the working conditions of personnel
  • participate in dialogues with all interested parties (workers, unions, suppliers, sub-contractors, sub-suppliers, buyers, non-government associations, government and national officers), with the objective of ensuring a sustainable compliance.

The Board is fully committed to ensuring that the fundaments of the Social Policy of the company are promoted, understood, implemented, and supported for all personnel, so that the activity may be carried out in a climate encouraging development and gratification.
